15 Year Old Steals Spotlight at Austrian Open

September 20th, 2010

Matthias Schwab, a 15 year old kid from Austria, stole the limelight somewhat from eventual winner Jose Manuel Lara at last weeks Austrian Open. Schwab produced the best ever performance by a 15 year old on The European Tour; his closing 75 leaving him in a share of 32nd.

The Austrian schoolboy, playing on a special sponsors invitation, was within 5 shots of the lead going into Sunday's final round, after shooting successive 69's. Unfortunately Schwab faltered a little in the final round, shooting a 75, but the young Austrian definitely got the golf world's attention and they are sure to be on the look out for him in the next few years.

Whats even more amazing is that Matthias has a younger brother of 14, whom apparently has every bit as much talent as his older brother. Johannes recently came Third in the prestigious English Boys Championship and the future certainly looks bright for his golfing future as well. Don't forget the Schwab name, because these 2 brothers will certainly be making big waves in the golfing world for many years to come and if their practice routine is as difficult as it looks in the pictures below, winning golf tournaments will not be a problem.

Apparently there was a glitch in the EA Sports 'Tiger Woods 2009' game that let Tiger walk onto the water and play a shot from the pond which he holed out.

Was it a glitch or……?

Lind Golf featured on Sky Business news

January 8th, 2010

Last night I was interviewed on Sky Business news as part of their Summer Money program (7:00pm Foxtel Channel 602). It was a live interview so I had no idea what they were going to ask me! Pretty nerve racking!

It turned out that Brooke asked some fantastic questions about the business and buying golf clubs on the web – she could understand how people might buy groceries or books, but not golf clubs!

She wanted to know what made Lind Golf different, why we don’t endorse golfers and how we are able to replicate the in store experience online. They also asked whether we view our web site simply as a marketing tool or do we view it as more than that. We will have a copy of the interview next week and will upload it as soon as we receive it so that you can watch the interview!
